How to search for transactions



Transaction Search


Transaction searches can be done using any of the following search facilities:

1. QuickSearch

QuickSearch allows you to quickly find specific transactions. Located at the top of the portal, the  facility allows you to search for any of the following references:

  • Merchant reference:
    This reference is issued by the merchant's system and provided to the PayU platform at the time of transaction processing.
  • PayU Reference
    This reference is issued by the PayU platform and provided back to the merchant's system as part of the system's response at the time of transaction processing.
  • Gateway reference
    This reference is generated when the PayU platform interacts with a third party platform and is provided back to the merchant's system as part of the system's response at the time of transaction processing.
  • Bank reference
    This reference is generated by the bank during credit card processing and is provided back to the merchant's system as part of the system's response at the time of transaction processing.

To use:

  1. Go to the green search icon on the top right hand corner of the merchant portal dashboard
  2. Select the reference type you want to search with.
  3. Enter the full reference number (*partial reference searches are currently not supported) in the field available
  4. Press the enter button 






2. QuickFilter

Located on the left hand side, the QuickFilter facility allows a user to filter on any of the following payment methods:

  • Credit Card
  • SmartEFT
  • DiscoveryMiles
  • eBucks
  • Masterpass 

When clicking on the filtering options all transactions matching today's date will automatically be retrieved and displayed on the search results section.



3. Advanced Search

The Advanced Search bar is located at the top of the transaction search results page and allows for filtering/refinement of search parameters.


Parameters include:

Date range

Search filter functionality to retrieve transactions within a provided date range.

Reference

Search functionality to filter on a reference as per the type on the green drop down (*partial reference searches not currently supported).

Store

Search functionality to retrieve transactions for PayU stores associated to the user.

Transaction type

Search functionality to filter on the following transaction types:

  • Credit
  • Finalize
  • Payment
  • Reserve
  • Reserve cancel

Transaction status

Search functionality to filter on the following transaction statuses:

  • Expired
  • Failed
  • New
  • Processing
  • Staged
  • Successful
  • Timeout

Payment method

Search functionality to filter on the following payment methods:

  • Credit card
  • Discovery miles
  • eBucks
  • EFT
  • MasterPass

Basket Amount

Search filter functionality to retrieve transactions within a basket amount range.




Transaction search results

Search results action bar

The following is available on the search results bar:

  1. Amount of transactions currently displayed
    This is shown on the top left hand side. Based on the maximum amount of transactions more pages can be viewed by using the pagination facility (described further below) located on the far left hand side.

  2. Change the maximum amount of transactions displayed on a page
    The amount of transactions displayed per page can be changed by clicking on the dropdown in the middle of the results page and selecting one of the options in the dropdown

  3. Pagination
    This is facilitated by clicking on the First, Previous, Next, Last links on the far right hand side

  4. Column based sorting
    Transaction can be sorted by clicking on the column header located in the green header bar at the top of the search results bar


Viewing order details

A transaction's order details can be viewed by clicking on:

  • the PayU reference
  • the + sign followed clicking on the 'more details' link

Transaction life cycle management

The Credit, Reserve Cancel and Finalise transaction management links appear under the transaction information row when clicking the + icon. The options shown are based on the current state of the transaction.

A popup will appear with the relevant details for the applicable action when clicking on any of the options.
