When integrating you will require a Safekey, SOAP username and password in order for your website/application to interact with the PayU services. These details are the unique identifiers PayU uses to identify transactions coming to your store.

1. Activate your merchant portal account

You will receive an email from PayU's SafeShop requesting you to activate your merchant portal account by clicking on the “Activate my account” link where after you would be redirect to a web page to enter your selected password.

If you have not done so already please use the following steps to activate your account.

  • The activation email that was sent would have a subject line “Activate your PayU SafeShop account”; or
  • Alternatively, please navigate to the following web address https://secure.safeshop.co.za, enter your email address, provided in the application form, on the page and click “forgot password” link to have the account activation email resent.

2. Retrieve your store's production safekey

 

 

 

 

 

 

Please note that the information contained below in images and text is for demonstration purposes only and not your store details.

 

  • Once logged in select and click on your store.

 

 

 

 

 

  • Scroll down to “Configure System Settings” and select “Configure Store” from dropdown then press “go”

 

 

 

 

 

  • On the store Configuration page scroll down to the Security section of the page to obtain your store Primary Safekey.

 

Please make sure to use the Primary Safekey

 

 

 

 


Once your merchant portal account has been activated you will need to retrieve your store's production details. These details you will need to pass onto your developer/technical team in order to integrate your website with PayU.

Follow the steps below to obtain your store API credentials

  1. Log in to the PayU Merchant Portal (https://www.payu.co.za/admin) with the primary merchant account and password.
  2. From the navigation menu at the top of the page go to Settings -> Integration details



  3. The integration details page contains the following information:
