Description

For credit cards, PayU will allow you to set up your transactions to go through an additional level of authentication with Visa or MasterCard. The process is referred to as 3D Secure and involves the customer entering an additional verification code to prove that the card is theirs. This helps prevent fraud and helps reduce the risk associated with accepting credit card payments online.

Transaction Flows

These transaction flows show the user interaction with PayU after redirecting from your checkout page.

Landing page

Once the customer is redirected from your site, they will be presented with the following page where they are able to select the payment method they wish to use. This can be customised to suit your payment needs further.

Select payment option

Once the user selects to pay using Credit Card the below section will be expanded to provide the user with necessary fields to enter. The user will then have to fill in his credit card information in the fields provided and authorise the transaction by selecting the “Pay now” button.

Providing the OTP

After the card holder selects to “Pay Now” he/she will be presented with a similar page to the sample below requesting a One-Time-Pin that was sent to the card holders mobile handset via SMS. (Some banks could use slightly different method to authenticate) This One-Time-Pin is a randomly generated number forwarded by the issuing bank to the card holder. The card holder will be required to enter the One-Time-Pin before the credit card transaction is processed.

Successful Transaction

If the One-Time-Pin which has been entered is correct the transaction will then be processed and completed.  The below page will be presented to the user if the transaction is successful and at which point they will be redirected back to your site.
